BRING IT ON!

This week will be my first full week with my class. I did go in on Friday, but only half a day... and I didn't teach... just observed to know what I would need to address with rules/expectations this week. There is a list of things... :) Anyhow, I feel confident that the rest of the year will go well. Hopefully the structure will help the class quite a bit. The worst part was grading papers this weekend, and realizing that I have a GOOD DEAL of re-teaching that will take place soon.

This week should be fairly easy. Our state testing for Writing is next Weds, so this week the kids will be doing a LOT of writing. Hopefully it'll get them more prepared. I have some mini lessons, and then I'll be meeting with kids to work on their revising/editing. Hopefully it'll all go well. I'm glad there's not TOO much planned, because then that gives me time to go over things I need to go over as far as rules and stuff... I needed this week to be more laid back so that I can address this week just like this is the first week of school. :)

It's coming along...

Well, the classroom is coming along... I'll be posting pictures later... of before and after shots. Not much of my organizing has been done, but that's because there's a LOT of that to do! It will get done over the next couple weeks, though. Today is a work day for us, however I'll be in Professional Development all day long. I'm going in about an hour earlier than we start with training so that I can work some in my room, then I will get some more done this afternoon. I met a couple of my students Saturday at the Writing Camp... they seemed excited to meet me... I'm hoping that's a good sign! lol I hope the rest of the kids will come in tomorrow and be excited by what they see in the room... I've done a LOT of work spicing things up and I hope they appreciate it and that it gets them excited for the end of the year!

EXCELLENT NEWS!

I got my OFFICIAL job offer today from HR. :) I'll start going up to campus starting Monday to acquaint myself with the campus and my classroom and get things in order! AND to top off the good news, I'm going to the Rodeo tonight with friends and family and entirely plan on having an EXCELLENT, FANTASTIC time!!!! :-D

As I said previously, I will take a few pics of my classroom whenever I go up next week and post them... I'm hoping it's already in an order that I will enjoy so I have little to do... but I want things a certain way... so I'm sure I'll be doing SOME work in the next couple weeks. And the following week, I'll be starting on lesson plans after school and getting things ready for that! :-) I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!
