Goodbye 20's... bring on the 30's! I'm ready and FEARLESS! :-) They will be FANTASTIC!
Since it's my birthday I thought I'd share 30 things I've learned in 30 years...
1) You cannot live on a spiritual mountain top.
2) You need friends and community when you are in the valley.
3) Co-workers are there to help keep you from strangling the children.
4) You cannot escape the Holy Spirit. (Praise God!)
5) Love is great but can leave you with a whole mess of heartache. Guard your heart.
6) Never be afraid to ask for help. This is actually a sign of strength.
7) God provides. It may not look the way I thought it would or be abundant but He gives me just enough to prove I can trust Him.
8) People notice when you follow Jesus. Even when you think you mess up.
9) Some of your greatest friends are your oldest friends or the ones willing to look you in the face and tell you you’re wrong and still love you anyways.
10) Text messages should not be responded to when you are half-asleep.
11) Sometimes you need to realize if you're feeling sorry for someone else it's wise to realize how they got themselves there.
12) I am capable of taking on much more than I thought I could.
13) I've learned there are certain things I can't live without... like quality toilet paper.
14) Exercise is very important for my physical and mental health.
15) God won’t let me escape Him.
16) Sometimes, you need to cut out toxic people in your life, even if it really hurts your heart.
17) I love kids movies; I've begun finding old cartoon movies/movies from my childhood and buying them on DVD.
18) I am a music lover; there isn't a day I go without listening to music or singing. I think if I became deaf, I would die of music depression.
19) Life rarely goes as planned. Might as well throw my plan out the window and embrace what God has for me today.
20) I do not like cold weather when I have to be out in it for a prolonged period of time.
21) My best friends keep me sane and grounded; I would be lost without them.
22) Hope can be dangerous.
23) I have discovered it would take a LOT to make my parents feel ashamed of the woman I've become.
24) Joy doesn’t always come easy. Fight for it.
25) I've learned new things about my Grandma recently, and I'm glad I've listened to her more now than before so that I will have no regrets when she is no longer with me physically.
26) Sometimes, I have to accept being beat by a 6 year old on some video games.
27) I have discovered in watching my nephew and disciplining him, I'm much more like my parents than I ever said I would be!
28) I love the fact that I'm quirky and have a varied fondness of strange movies, books, and music and I LOVE to share that with my best friends and family!
29) I have accomplished a lot in 30 years, and I will accomplish many more things in my Earthly life.
30) “A guy and a girl can be just friends, but at one point or another, they will fall for each other...Maybe temporarily, maybe at the wrong time, maybe too late, or maybe forever.” -Dave Matthews
